Shimano 11-speed HOLLOWTECH II Road Crankset Recall


Shimano is dedicated to safety and quality. They have issued a voluntary recall of some bonded 11-speed HOLLOWTECH II road cranksets on select models of ALL branded (Trek, Specialized, Giant, etc.) road bicycles produced between 2012 - 2019 for a possible bonding separation issue.
 
Please bring your road bicycle into one of 
Jax Bicycle Centers 9 locations to have your crankset inspected. Jax Bicycle Centers are Authorized Shimano Crankset Inspection locations.  
 
Jax Bicycle Center / Shimano will replace any crank that fails the inspection process.
 
For your time, Jax Bicycle Center will provide a $20 In-Store Credit towards accessories, parts, rubber or apparel to all clients who bring their bicycle in for the recall inspection. 

The affected model numbers are DURA-ACE and ULTEGRA branded cranksets with the following model numbers: ULTEGRA FC-6800, FC-R8000 and DURA-ACE FC-9000, FC-R9100 and FC-R9100-P. 

The model numbers are stamped on the inside of the crank arm near the bottom of the arm.
